Independent Foreclosure Review: Baltimore Bankruptcy Lawyer Explains

Recently I have gotten calls from several clients about a letter they got saying they could get an ”Independent Foreclosure Review”.

At first I thought this was a scam. But after looking into it, you should definitely check this out.

This is a settlement between the federal government and many of the big banks to compensate people who were harmed by the “robo signing” or other problems in the foreclosure process.

You may be eligible even if you lost your home in foreclosure, or if you are still living in your house. Here is a list of the participating banks.

America’s Servicing Company Countrywide National City
Aurora Loan Services EMC PNC
Bank of America Everbank/Everhome Sovereign Bank
Beneficial GMAC Mortgage SunTrust Mortgage
Chase HFC U.S. Bank
Citibank HSBC Wachovia
CitiFinancial IndyMac Mortgage Services Washington Mutual
CitiMortgage Metlife Bank Wells Fargo
Wilshire Credit Corporation

If your house was in foreclosure between Jan. 1 2009 and Dec. 31 2012, and you had a mortgage with one of the above lenders, you may be eligible. You may have already gotten a letter about this, but not done anything because it look kind of suspicious. But it is real and you have nothing to lose by checking it out.

Go to www.IndependentForeclosureReview.com for all the details and to fill out the request fro review form. But you must do it by APRIL 30, 2012.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.
